Serious lesion of André Carrillo will leave out of last qualifying dates – El diario andino

Terrible news for André Carrillo, Corinthians and the Peruvian National Team. Just when the ‘snake’ was again a fundamental part of the Brazilian cast, a tough injury will leave him out of the courts at least the remainder of the season.
This, clearly, leaves it out of the plans of Oscar Ibáñez in the face of the last duels of the Blanquirroja for the tie to the 2026 World Cup.
The injury occurred in the duel between the ‘Timao’ and Palmeiras, which was a victory for the whites 2-0, but that Carrillo could not celebrate, because a clash with Agustín Giay left him out of the match.
Hours later, the Paulista cast confirmed the worst: Carrillo suffered a ligament injury in the left ankle, which will require surgical intervention.
The operation will be carried out in the next few days, where its recovery process will begin, which is estimated to be around four months, according to the report published by several local media.
The play that triggered the injury occurred in a dispute over the ball in a rival field. Carrillo fell with all the weight on his left leg, which caused the immediate torsion of the ankle.
With the news, it is clear that the player will not be taken into account for the duels of the Peruvian selection of September. The list will be published by Ibáñez this August 24 and will have to rethink names for its replacement.
With regard to the two closing duels of the classification process, they will be before Uruguay and Paraguay on September 4 and 9, respectively.
